Case Prep: Lyman Case Prep Xpress vs. Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Case Trim and Prep System
I’ve done a product review on two different tools you can use for case preparation; the Lyman Case Prep Xpress and the Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Case Trim and Prep System. The video above does a good job describing the two products so I won’t go into too much detail here. Below is a summary of my results.
Lyman Case Prep Xpress ($106+)
Pros:
-Quiet
-Five attachment points
-Attachment point threads are universal
Cons:
-Only can be used vertical
Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Case Trim and Prep System ($160+)
Pros:
-Can be used for case trimming
-Can be used in multiple positions
-Attachment point threads are universal
Cons:
-Loud
-Doesn’t come with case neck brushes, reaming bits or primer pocket uniformers
-Cost
Winner: Lyman (barely)
The reason I picked Lyman is because the scope of this review was for case preparation centers; not trimmers. If you need a trimmer too, buy the Frankford Arsenal product. Here are links to both of the products reviewed in this post:
